At present the club has almost 100 swimmers. These swimmers vary in age and ability level. That is why we have a squad structure in place to ensure that each swimmer is gaining the full benefits of their teaching and coaching.

SQUAD 3   Coached by Faye Smartt and Jan Sayer

This group forms the basis of our swimming development programme. This squad is made up of young swimmers who are taught the basics of stroke technique, starts and turns along with gradual swimming endurance.

SQUAD 2   Coached by David Gillon

This group continues to develop stroke technique for swimmers. There is also an increased amount of swimming endurance designed to prepare each swimmer for organised swimming events.

SQUAD 1 JUNIORS   Coached by Mick Smartt

This squad of swimmers will consist of talented individuals who have the desire to go on and compete at the highest level. By now all stroke techniques should be understood and the further development of preparation for competitive swimming is very much the focus of training.

SQUAD 1   Coached by David Gillon

When promotion to this group, swimmers will have shown a high level of commitment and desire to succeed. This squad consists of talented and motivated individuals who thrive to train at all sessions to be rewarded with competition success.

*Promotion from one squad to another is based on the overall capabilities of the swimmer. More specifically the on their training level, attendance, attitude, technique and competition performances. The decision to promote a swimmer is a joint decision between the appropriate squad coach and the head coach. Before being promoted the parent or guardian of the swimmer will be consulted for appropriate approval.
